Statement of Purpose

Ricardo Cisneros

My body of work is driven primarily of: passion, emotion, and life. Each work is initiated by an idea, as it resonates whithin my life experiences, mainly the failed attempts i've had to improve my love life, career success and the simple desire i hold to understand my place in the universe. My process is very basic, as an artist i tend to shelter my creative objective as much as possible. This is my meger attempt to be as original as i can be. I feel, the more you are influenced and the more research you do as an artist, the more your work becomes a collage of other ideas. Each work is an excerpt of my life. It sometimes manifest' as a painful experience, translated as a surreal narrative or a whimsical satyre based dillusion of my own political views. My personal directive as an artist is to create windows of interest, to shed light into my own personal struggles and interpret them through elegant, visual delights. They may not follow a linear approach of consistency and style, but each is a beautiful disaster created in the pursuit of simple curiosity.
